Five Things Every Bell’s Bride Should Know
Wedding planning is a beautiful season, but it can feel overwhelming at times. At Bell’s Flowers, our role is to bring calm, creativity, and intention to every floral detail, ensuring your wedding day feels effortless, romantic, and thoughtfully designed. With that in mind, here are five floral insights every Bell’s Bride should know as you begin envisioning your day.

Thoughtful Designs Can Flow Seamlessly from Ceremony to Reception
We believe the most beautiful weddings are designed with purpose. To make the most of your floral investment, we often recommend arrangements that can be gracefully repurposed throughout the day.
Your ceremony deserves a floral moment that feels intentional, immersive, and unforgettable. We love creating statement altar designs — lush, garden-inspired focal pieces filled with movement, texture, and seasonal blooms that set the tone as you exchange vows.
We often layer the ceremony space with meadow-style aisle markers lining the chairs. These low, organic arrangements soften the aisle and create a romantic garden path leading to the altar, adding depth and dimension to your ceremony design.
Following the ceremony, both the altar statement pieces and the meadow markers can be thoughtfully transitioned into your reception space — framing a sweetheart table, accenting a head table, or enhancing key guest-facing areas. This creates a seamless design story from ceremony to celebration, allowing your florals to continue making an impact throughout the evening.
Let the Season Guide Your Blooms
We always recommend using in-season flowers for your big day, for two key reasons. First, cost - flowers that are available during their natural growing season tend to be more affordable. Second, appearance - flowers at the peak of their freshness and maturity will look their absolute best.
For example, take peonies. We all adore peonies, but their availability is limited to just a few months, typically from May through late June. While it's possible to special order peonies during the off-season by having them shipped in from places like Alaska, the cost skyrockets and the quality often suffers compared to peonies at the height of their season.
Rather than paying more for peonies that may appear tired and lackluster, we recommend either aligning your wedding date with the natural bloom time of your desired flowers, or working with us to find a beautiful in-season alternative. For those set on peonies, garden roses make an excellent substitution - they have a similarly lush, full appearance.
Our team is here to provide floral expertise and creative ideas to ensure your wedding flowers are both cost-effective and visually stunning. We're happy to offer guidance on choosing the perfect blooms for your special day.
Your Bridal Bouquet Sets the Tone for Everything
The bridal bouquet is the heart of your floral story. It establishes the color palette, texture, and overall aesthetic that carries throughout the day.
When couples share inspiration with us, it’s often bouquet-focused, and for good reason. Your bouquet will appear in countless moments: portraits, detail shots, ceremony photos, and candid memories. It becomes a visual thread woven through your wedding day.
When selecting inspiration images, look for bouquets that truly reflect your vision — from color and movement to flower varieties and overall mood. From there, we design the remaining florals to echo that same feeling in a cohesive, elevated way.
Flowers Are Living, Natural Works of Art
We adore Pinterest and love using it as a source of inspiration. However, it’s important to remember that many images online are heavily edited, often altering the true tones of the flowers.
In real life, flowers are beautifully nuanced. A “white” bloom may carry hints of cream, ivory, blush, or soft yellow — often all within a single stem. These natural variations add depth and character, creating arrangements that feel organic and romantic rather than flat or overly uniform.
Embracing these subtle shifts in color allows your florals to feel authentic, dimensional, and undeniably luxurious.
Communication Is Key — and We’re With You Every Step of the Way
From the moment you book with Bell’s Flowers, you become part of our extended wedding-day family. We believe in clear, thoughtful communication and will check in with you throughout the planning process to ensure everything feels aligned and stress-free.
We encourage you to share inspiration images, communicate any flower preferences or aversions, and let us know about special requests — from photography timing to meaningful personal details. Our goal is to support you far beyond the florals, working seamlessly alongside your vendor team to bring your vision to life.
From the garden, with love,
Isabel
