Wedding Bouquet Styles and What They Actually Mean
When you start looking at wedding flowers, you’ll probably notice something pretty quickly. Not all bouquets look the same. Some are tight and classic, some are loose and airy, and some feel like they are spilling in every direction.
If you have ever saved a bunch of Pinterest photos but could not explain what you liked about them, this is for you. Here are some of the most common wedding bouquet styles and what they really look like in real life.
Garden Style Bouquet
This is probably the most requested bouquet right now and is our style at Bell's Flowers.
A garden style bouquet feels soft, natural, and a little bit undone in the best way. It looks like the flowers were just gathered and tied together, even though a lot of thought goes into making it look that effortless.
It usually has a mix of blooms at different heights, a bit of movement, and some airy texture.
This style is perfect if you want something romantic, relaxed, and a little bit whimsical.
Round Bouquet
This is the classic bouquet shape most people picture when they think of wedding flowers.
A round bouquet is tight, even, and very put together. All the blooms are arranged into a soft dome shape so it feels full and balanced from every angle.
It is simple, elegant, and timeless. If you want something clean that will never feel trendy in a bad way, this is it.
Cascading Bouquet
A cascading bouquet is the one that flows downward a bit, almost like the flowers are trailing.
It has a more dramatic feel and can be really soft and romantic when done in a modern way. Instead of being stiff, it moves naturally and feels a little more like it has a life of its own.
This style is great if you want something a bit extra and a little more statement making without feeling too heavy.
Asymmetrical Bouquet
This style is all about movement and shape.
Instead of being perfectly even, one side usually has more flow or height than the other. It gives a very modern, editorial feel and can look really artistic in photos.
It is perfect if you like things that feel a little less traditional and more design focused.
Petite Bouquet
A petite bouquet is smaller, simpler, and really easy to hold.
It does not mean boring at all. It just means more intentional and minimal. You still get beautiful flowers, just in a more delicate size.
This style is great for courthouse weddings, elopements, or anyone who does not want something large and heavy.
Wildflower Inspired Bouquet
This style feels loose, playful, and very natural.
It is not overly structured and usually includes a mix of textures and softer blooms that feel like they were picked from a field.
It is perfect for outdoor weddings, spring and summer celebrations, or anyone who loves a more relaxed look.

Pageant Bouquet
A pageant bouquet is a very structured and polished style that is common for our girls using calla lilies!
It is usually larger, very symmetrical, and designed to make a strong visual impact from a distance. These bouquets often have a very intentional shape and are meant to feel bold, clean, and elegant at the same time.
This style is perfect for anyone who wants something very classic, noticeable, and put together.
So how do you choose
Most people do not end up picking just one exact style. It is usually a mix of a few.
You might love the shape of a round bouquet but want the movement of a garden style. Or you might like something asymmetrical but still soft and romantic.
