1. Do you deliver and setup or do we have to pickup?
Bell's Flowers provides both pickup and delivery options for your big event. We coordinate with you and any other vendors to ensure the flowers arrive when you need them. If you choose to pick up the flowers, we recommend sending someone with a large vehicle to accommodate the arrangements. We also provide sturdy boxes to prevent any spills or damage during transport.
2. Do you have a minimum that we have to order?
We have no minimum order requirement for your flower purchases through us. We understand that budgets vary for each couple's big day. Our floral designs range from a simple bridal bouquet to elaborate arrangements filling every corner of the venue.
3. I have no idea what flowers I want, what do I do?
As expert floral designers, we carefully consider numerous factors to create the perfect floral arrangements for your event. We collaborate closely with you to understand your desired color palette, the overall style and theme of the occasion, and the seasonal availability of blooms. Our goal is to design a custom floral concept that exceeds your expectations and reflects your unique aesthetic. We are committed to working hand-in-hand with each of our clients to ensure complete satisfaction with the final florals!
4. My wedding is outside, will the flowers wilt?
The Ohio weather can be unpredictable, so it's important to time our setup carefully. We don't want to arrive too late and get in the way of guests, but we also can't set up too early, as the flowers may start to wilt in the intense sun. To ensure flexibility, we limit the number of weddings we book per weekend. This allows us to adjust the timeline if needed. We have specialized floral hydration sprays, equipment, and techniques to help the flowers last as long as possible on the big day. Additionally, some floral varieties handle heat and pressure better than others, so we may avoid using certain blooms, like white hydrangeas, during the hottest summer months.
5. I want my colors to match perfectly, can we do this?
Many couples want their florals to match their color scheme exactly. However, they often don't realize the natural color variation within a single floral stem. For example, one pink rose can feature hints of pink, peach, soft lilac, and more. While Pinterest provides great inspiration pictures, the filtered images may not accurately represent the true flower colors. As such, I advise my couples that it's nearly impossible to perfectly match every color. Instead, I recommend using a mix of flowers in complementary, on-theme shades for a more natural, cohesive look.
6. What if the flower(s) I want isn't in season?
We know you adore peonies, but unfortunately they are not in season during the fall. (We share your disappointment!) When a preferred flower is unavailable, we will substitute a similar alternative that is currently in season. While we cannot control the whims of nature, we will find a replacement bloom with comparable beauty and cost. Our goal is to provide you with the best possible floral arrangements for your special day.
7. Where do you get your flowers?
At Bell's, we believe in supporting local businesses. That's why we source the majority of our flowers from nearby farms during the peak growing season of April through October. However, when certain blooms are unavailable from our local suppliers or during the colder months, we rely on a small number of trusted wholesalers who source flowers from around the world. This allows us to provide our customers with a wide selection year-round while still prioritizing local growers whenever possible.
8. I want to DIY my own flowers, can you help with this?
In recent years, the trend of DIY wedding flowers has become increasingly popular. While we've offered this option in the past, Bell's Flowers can no longer provide bunches for our brides due to the unpredictability of flowers and the stress it often causes. Arranging flowers in the final week before the wedding can be time-consuming and stressful. However, if you have a supportive bridal party or family to assist you, this DIY approach may be a fun and rewarding experience. We wish you the best if you choose to go this route.
9. What is the payment process like in order to book you?
We're thrilled that you want to officially book our services! To secure your date, we require couples to sign our contract and pay at least one-third of the total amount upfront. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your wedding date, which is when we place the order with our farmers and wholesalers. The entire process can be completed electronically, and we strive to make it as easy as possible for you.
10. I'm a very visual person, can you show me photos?
At Bell's Flowers, we understand that booking a vendor without seeing the actual product can be daunting. That's why we prioritize exceptional client service and constant communication throughout the wedding planning process.
Before our initial consultation, we ask you to share your inspiration images and Pinterest boards. This allows us to get a sense of your desired aesthetic before we even meet. We then create a mood board featuring the overall look you've envisioned, as well as in-season flowers that complement your inspiration.
During our meeting, we present this mood board and get your feedback. We then refine the design to perfectly suit your preferences. As your wedding date approaches, we'll resend the updated mood board and flower list so you know exactly what to expect.
