What to Expect From Your Floral Consultation with Bell’s Flowers
Congratulations! We are so excited that you’re considering Bell’s Flowers for your wedding day. Planning your floral designs is one of the most exciting parts of the wedding process, and we can’t wait to hear all about your vision and ideas.
One of the most common questions we receive is what a floral consultation with Bell’s Flowers actually looks like. To help you feel confident and fully prepared, we’ve outlined everything you need to know before meeting with us.
How much does a consultation cost?
Great news—all consultations with Bell’s Flowers are completely free of charge. We understand how important it is for couples to meet with multiple vendors to find the right fit for their wedding day, which is why we never charge a consultation fee. This time is meant to be relaxed, informative, and helpful for you.
How do I book a consultation?
Booking your consultation is easy! Simply head to the “Brides to Be” section of our website and click the button to schedule your consultation. Once your time is booked, you’ll be prompted to fill out a short form with key details about your wedding day. This information helps us prepare for your meeting and ensures we can make the most of our time together.
How do I know if my wedding date is available?
After you select your consultation date and time, we’ll review your wedding date to confirm availability. If we’re unable to take on your date, we’ll personally reach out to let you know and cancel the consultation. Our goal is to be transparent and respectful of your time.
Can I send inspiration pictures?
Absolutely—we highly encourage it! Floral design is very visual, and inspiration photos help us understand your style and preferences. You’re welcome to share Pinterest boards, Instagram posts, or any images you love.
You can include links directly in your consultation form, or email inspiration photos to Bellsflowersllc@gmail.com. The more we can see what you’re drawn to, the better we can design something that feels like you.
What if I can’t attend the consultation in person?
No problem at all. We work with couples from all over the country—and even internationally. If an in-person meeting isn’t possible, we’re happy to schedule a phone call instead. We’ll meet you in whatever way is most convenient.
What should I bring or have prepared for my consultation?
Just bring yourself—and anyone you’d like to include in the decision-making process! Inspiration photos are always helpful, but don’t worry if you don’t have everything figured out yet. Our job is to guide you through the process and ask the right questions to uncover your vision.
What should I have decided before choosing my wedding flowers?
Before finalizing your wedding flower designs, there are a few key details that are helpful to have at least loosely decided. Don’t worry—these don’t need to be set in stone, but having a general direction allows us to create a proposal that truly fits your day.
Your ceremony and reception locations
Knowing where your ceremony and reception will take place helps us design flowers that complement each space. Venue style, size, and layout all play a role in determining the scale and types of arrangements that will work best.
Your wedding date
Your wedding date helps guide floral availability and seasonal design options. While we can source many flowers year-round, working with seasonal blooms often allows for better pricing, fresher flowers, and more cohesive designs.
Your overall color palette and aesthetic
Rather than specific flower types, it’s most helpful to know your general color scheme and overall vibe—romantic, modern, timeless, garden-inspired, minimal, etc. This gives us creative freedom to design something beautiful while staying true to your vision.
A rough floral budget
Having a general budget range allows us to guide you toward the best options within your comfort level. This helps prioritize where to invest—whether that’s statement pieces, personal flowers, or repurposing designs throughout the day.
Estimated guest count
Your guest count helps determine table numbers, centerpiece quantities, and the overall scale of your floral designs.
Wedding party size
Knowing how many bouquets, boutonnieres, and personal flowers you’ll need helps us plan accurately and avoid surprises later.
Any must-haves or must-avoids
If there are flowers you absolutely love, flowers you dislike, or non-negotiable elements (like an arch or floral installation), this is great information to share early on.
What happens during a floral consultation?
We’ll begin by reviewing the basics of your wedding day, including locations, timing, guest count, and overall flow. From there, we’ll walk through your floral needs by discussing popular arrangements and design elements couples often choose—along with items that are sometimes overlooked, like cake flowers or flower petals.
As we go through each option, you’ll be able to give us a yes, no, or maybe, helping us shape a design plan that fits your style and priorities. We’ll also discuss your color palette and general floral aesthetic—the fun part!
Our Proposal Process
After your consultation, we’ll send you a personalized floral proposal that includes:
-
A detailed overview of your event
-
A Bloom Blueprint outlining potential flower varieties
-
A custom vision board based on your inspiration photos
-
An itemized breakdown of each floral element, including visuals, descriptions, quantities, and pricing
This gives you time to review everything, share it with family, and make thoughtful decisions. Most couples go through a few rounds of adjustments before everything feels just right—and we’re happy to guide you through that process. Once finalized, we’ll send your contract and invoice to be completed online.
I don’t know much about flower types. What should I do?
No worries at all—most couples don’t! We recommend focusing on your overall color palette and aesthetic rather than specific flower varieties. Flower availability can vary due to seasonality, weather, and supply, so this approach allows us more flexibility to create the best possible designs.
If there are flowers you love or absolutely dislike, let us know, and we’ll always do our best to accommodate your preferences.
How do I officially book Bell’s Flowers for my wedding?
We’re so excited to be part of your wedding dream team! To officially reserve your date, we require:
-
A non-refundable retainer of one-third of the total
-
A signed electronic contract
Payments can be made by card, check, or cash for your convenience.
What if I need to make changes to my invoice?
We understand that wedding plans evolve. You’re welcome to make changes to your floral order up until 30 days before your wedding date, which is when we place orders with our wholesalers. At that time, the remaining balance will be due, and we’ll finalize all details to ensure everything runs smoothly.
We’re here to support you every step of the way and can’t wait to bring your floral vision to life. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to us at Bellsflowersllc@gmail.com—we’re always happy to help. 💐
