Valentine’s Day is Almost Here—Let the Floral Magic Begin!
Can you believe Valentine’s Day is just around the corner? With only a month to go, we’re already getting ready for one of the busiest and most exciting seasons of the year. Our Valentine’s Day menu goes live tomorrow, and we thought now would be the perfect time to give you a behind-the-scenes look at how we choose the designs and flowers for this special occasion!
Color Palette: Classic with a Twist
If you’ve been paying attention to the season, you’ll know that the signature Valentine’s Day colors are red, pink, and white. When selecting the color schemes for our designs, we keep a close eye on what our customers love. Over the years, we’ve discovered which combinations are fan favorites and make sure to include them in our offerings.
While the classic red, pink, and white combo is always a top choice, we like to mix it up with a little something extra for those seeking something more unique. Soft peach tones, for example, can add a fresh twist to the traditional palette. But at the end of the day, it’s all about balancing timeless beauty with creative touches—so we often incorporate a variety of textured foliage to really make those colors pop!
Flower Selection: Timeless Classics & New Blooms
No Valentine’s Day bouquet would be complete without the beloved red rose. It’s a staple for a reason—romantic, elegant, and always in demand. We make sure to stock up on plenty of red roses each year (and still often sell out despite our best efforts!). But roses aren’t the only stars of the show.
We love adding a mix of flowers that complement the roses and bring texture and depth to each arrangement. For example, we use long-stemmed blooms like stock, snapdragons, and larkspur to create height and fullness in our designs. And, of course, we always include lush filler flowers and greenery to achieve that natural, garden-inspired look that Bell’s Flowers is known for.
Vase Life: Keeping Your Blooms Fresh
At Bell’s Flowers, we also keep vase life in mind when selecting our flowers. We want to ensure that your bouquet lasts long after the holiday is over, so we choose blooms that stand the test of time. Flowers like alstroemeria, snapdragons, carnations, and wax flowers are all reliable choices that will stay fresh for longer.
But we’re also all about offering something special. To make your bouquet truly stand out, we love adding unique touches like anthurium, ranunculus, lisianthus, and tulips. These blooms not only bring texture and elegance to each arrangement, but they also offer a fun twist that sets us apart from the rest.
